❓ Can the Numatic CT470 be used as a standard dry vacuum cleaner?
💬 Yes, but the required dry components must be ordered separately. The machine is supplied configured for wet extraction and liquid recovery. To use it as a dry vacuum, simply remove the clean solution bucket and fit a genuine Numatic TriTex cloth filter basket, a HepaFlo dust bag, and dry 32mm floor tools/hose (available as optional accessories).

❓ What is the difference between clean water capacity and dirty recovery capacity?
💬 The CT470 uses a space-saving tank-within-a-tank system:
Clean Solution Capacity: Holds up to 11 litres of pre-mixed water and detergent inside the removable internal bucket.
Dirty Extraction Recovery: Holds up to 20 litres of recovered wastewater directly in the main outer Structofoam drum before the safety float shuts off suction.
Dry Capacity: Holds up to 27 litres when configured with a dust bag and dry filter.

💬 Use only low-foaming carpet and upholstery extraction detergents. Never use high-foaming domestic carpet shampoos, washing-up liquid, or bleach. If cleaning carpets with heavy pre-existing detergent residues, always add a dose of liquid anti-foam/defoamer to the dirty recovery drum to prevent foam bypassing the safety float and reaching the motor.

❓ Does the CT470 heat the water internally, and can I use hot water?
💬 The CT470 does not feature an internal heating element. However, you can safely fill the clean solution tank with warm water from the tap (up to a maximum of 40°C–50°C). Warm water helps activate extraction chemicals and break down stubborn grease, body oils, and food spills faster without damaging the pump or internal seals.

❓ How does the CT470 prevent dirty water from flooding the suction motor?
💬 The motor head is fitted with a commercial safety float valve cage. As recovered liquid approaches the 20-litre limit, the float ball rises and seals the vacuum inlet. The motor will audibly change pitch to indicate the drum is full, preventing liquid from entering the 1000W TwinFlo bypass motor.
