❓ Frequently Asked Questions: Sebo Spares, Parts & Maintenance

Find expert answers to common questions about our Sebo vacuum cleaner Spares and Parts range.
  • While third-party "compatible" or "pattern" parts are often cheaper upfront, they are almost always a false economy. At MK Floortec, we strongly advise using Genuine Sebo Spares to protect your investment and maintain your vacuum's performance.

    • Inferior Bags: Genuine Sebo Ultra-Bags are made from highly developed, electrostatically charged microfibre. Non-genuine "paper" or low-quality synthetic bags often lack the strength to handle high suction; they are prone to bursting inside the machine or leaking fine dust. This dust then bypasses the bag and enters the motor, which is the leading cause of premature motor failure.
    • Filter Quality: Non-genuine filters often lack the dense, multi-layered material required for S-Class Hospital Grade filtration. Using these means fine dust and allergens are exhausted back into your room, which is a major risk for allergy and asthma sufferers.
    • Brush Roller Durability: Compatible brush rollers are rarely made to the same engineering tolerances as the originals. They are often constructed from inferior plastics and bristles that wear down significantly faster or, in many cases, snap under the high-speed tension of a Sebo motor, potentially damaging the floor head.
    • Genuine Motors: If your motor fails, we always recommend replacing it with a Genuine Sebo Motor. Non-genuine motors often have poor heat dissipation and unbalanced armatures, which can lead to a shorter lifespan or even cause the vacuum’s PCB (circuit board) to blow.

The MK Floortec Verdict: Using non-genuine parts can void your Sebo warranty and ultimately shorten the lifespan of your machine. By choosing genuine parts, you ensure your vacuum continues to perform at its peak for its intended 15–20 year lifespan.

  • To ensure you buy the correct spare parts, you must identify your specific model. Look for a silver data sticker located either on the underside of the floor head (uprights) or the bottom of the canister (cylinders). This sticker will list the model name (e.g., Automatic X7, Felix, or Airbelt E3) and a serial number, which is essential for identifying the correct PCB boards or motors for different manufacturing generations.

  • For standard domestic use, we recommend replacing your pre-motor and exhaust filters every 12 to 18 months, or after using approximately 20 bags. If you have pets, we suggest upgrading to a Charcoal Odour Filter, which should be replaced annually to prevent stale smells.

  • Sebo Service Box kit is the most cost-effective way to maintain your vacuum. It typically includes a set of 8 Ultra-Bags, a replacement Micro-Hospital Grade Filter, and an Exhaust Filter. Replacing these together every 12 months ensures peak suction performance and maintains Sebo’s famous S-Class filtration for allergy relief.

  • Yes. Sebo vacuums are famously modular and designed for easy repair. Most common tasks—such as replacing hoses, brush rollers and even soleplates—can be done at home with basic tools like a T20 Torx screwdriver. By using genuine Sebo parts, you ensure the safety and longevity of your machine.
